Emerging Technology 1: Make Believe Comix

My attempt at a make believe comix can be viewed at:
http://www.makebeliefscomix.com/Comix/?comix_id=13308055C404479.
You can also click on my picture on the right to view it.
It is actually quite a fun site. Very easy to use. Being clever is the hardest part. I would definitely use this as a tool in the classroom to make a point or to add some levity to a project. I think students would enjoy it also. It would give them an alternative means to communicate an idea, thought or hypothesis.

The revolution will be televised and tweeted

I have been fascinated by the developments in North Africa these past 3 weeks. First Tunisia overthrows their dictator led government. Then the  Egyptian people decided to get rid of their dictator and will not stand for anything less. Last night Hosni Mobarik defiantly said he was going to stay on until the September election. The people erupted in the streets. Then today, Hosni Mobarik steps down as president and leaves Egypt.
This seems to be a technology based revolution with people using the Internet to spread information. Egypt tried to shut down the Internet and cell service but it was to late. The call had been sent out and enough people responded in the streets of Cairo to bring down the government. It is a day to remember.

Into the blogoshere

I have learned a lot about blogging this past 2 weeks. I have visited a lot of education blogs. The information that is available is astounding! I can see how this medium can be useful to educators and students alike. Some of the best of the blogs I have visited are at my Delicious site: http://www.delicious.com/wooffman99 . My background is in science education so many of the sites are about science and science in the classroom.
